Since founding Carlson Consulting Engineers, Inc. in 1995, Dean has designed numerous large scale commercial developments, all with various levels of public components and environmental activities. In addition to commercial developments, he has  been responsible for the design of numerous municipal streets and utility systems as well as park and lake projects. 

Dean graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1987, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
