Carlson Consulting Engineers, Inc. is currently seeking to a Senior Land Surveyor to join our team of design professionals in Bartlett, TN.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all Surveying services including but not limited to: Title Commitment Review, Boundary Determination, Legal Description Preparation, Review of Drafting, Certification of Final Survey Maps/Plats
  • Coordinate with Company Project Engineers and Field Crews
  • Review Workloads and Weekly Schedules
  • Maintaining Quality Control Practices for the Survey Department

Qualifications:

  • Registered Land Surveyor in the State of Tennessee
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of Land Surveying experience
  • Must be able and willing to become registered in multiple jurisdictions

Surveyor – Rodman

Survey Rodman – Part time position initially with possibility of full-time employment

Job is a general laborer role assisting survey operations in the field as a Rodman under the direction of a Survey Crew Chief or a Survey Instrument Operator.  Primary responsibilities include driving metal and wood stakes, holding survey rod, and ensuring that survey supplies and equipment are prepared for the survey tasks at hand.  Position also requires maintenance of certain equipment, stocking adequate surveying supplies and carrying equipment from the truck to the survey site.  Training will be provided to assist with other various field duties in the process of data collection.

Successful candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent.  No prior Survey experience needed. Qualified candidates must possess:

  • Strong work ethic and dependability
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision after training
  • Ability to retain and follow verbal instructions
  • Consistent punctuality and superb attendance
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Stamina to work in a physically demanding position all day and in all types of weather
  • Willing to occasionally travel during the week (home by weekend)

This position is physically demanding so candidate must:

  • Be able to maneuver over rough, uneven terrain, ditches, roadsides, etc., while carrying loads of 40-50 lbs.
  • Be able to work up to 10-12 hours per day when needed.
  • Be capable of using small hand tools and power tools.
  • Be able to withstand physical exertion required for setting stakes.
  • Be capable of using a machete, brush hook, or other tool to cut light brush.
  • Be capable of wearing hearing protection when working near heavy traffic and highways, hard hat if required, and clothing appropriate for the weather. No short pants allowed.
  • Be able to pass drug and background checks.
